Public Engagement

Engaging with communities locally and nationally to encourage ownership, understanding, excitement and curiosity in the research undertaken by our scientists

For an overview of events see our Activity Table

If you are interested in our research, or in finding out more about an area of biology that interests you, you will find an opportunity here:

There are lots of ways in which we engage with communities locally and nationally to discuss our science. Resources and events for public audiences and for schools include individual visits to local schools, open days and exhibitions, talks and other presentations. We contribute to many science and cultural festivals. Web-based information includes films and podcasts, along with downloadable educational publications.

As well as the projects described on these pages, many of our enthusiastic and creative staff and students organise smaller, and often surprisingly unconventional, activities discussing their science, such as stand-up comedy, book clubs, one-off presentations and talks, art exhibitions and more.

If you would like to discuss the possibility of us working with your group or organization, please get in touch with us.
