Getting involved in the life-sciences - bringing ecology to the citizen

This mini-symposium will showcase citizen science projects from the life-sciences within Scotland or connected to Edinburgh University. Projects that will be presented include Track A Tree, Atlas of Living Scotland, iSpotNature and TreeZilla.
Admission is free, but Eventbrite registration is required due to limited spaces:

STEAM Summer School in Science Communication

Rhine-Waal University from 13-22 July, 2016.

Students and staff from the University of Edinburgh can apply for a grant that covers the summer school’s participation fee, with some travel and subsistence supplements. Application deadline: Fri 29 April 12:00 GMT lunchtime.

The Summer School is also open to paying participants for 550 Euros for ten days. Deadline: Fri June 10 12:00 GMT lunchtime.


Workshop: Entrepreneurship in the Biotech Industry

The workshop will explore how to put together a life sciences business; what assets are required, what are the key points in a business plan and how to pitch your ideas. Groups of 4 or 5 will work on a real life scenario to generate and present a company plan.
